Dover Teacher Sets Sail with NOAA!

Congratulations to Jo Slavitz, who has been selected as one of only 10 NOAA Teachers at Sea nationwide this year! Beginning July 16, Jo will embark on a 23-day research voyage in the Aleutian Islands of the Bering Sea, where she will work alongside scientists conducting real-world marine research and data collection.
As part of the program, Jo will share her experiences through a NOAA blog, giving students, families, and community members a firsthand look at life aboard a research vessel, marine science in action, and the many STEM careers that support ocean research. NOAA's goal is to inspire the next generation of scientists and problem-solvers through authentic scientific experiences.
